Founded in 2012 with the acquisition of our first facility in Vineland, New Jersey, Columbia Self Storage began as a single-property operation with a clear focus on service, consistency, and long-term ownership. That first acquisition laid the groundwork for steady expansion throughout New Jersey, followed by growth into New York and Pennsylvania as our operating platform matured.

As the platform grew, we expanded beyond the Northeast with our entry into Arizona through the acquisition of three facilities in Cottonwood, Cornville, and Lakeside. These acquisitions marked an important milestone in our multi-state growth strategy. Building on that momentum, we developed a new, state-of-the-art property in Cottonwood featuring a diversified mix of traditional self-storage units, RV and boat storage, and flexible contractor-style space—demonstrating our ability to both acquire and develop assets that meet evolving market demand.

Today, Columbia Self Storage operates 28 locations across four states. In addition to day-to-day operations, we are actively involved in the sourcing, evaluation, and acquisition of new properties as part of our continued growth. Our approach is disciplined and long-term, with a focus on markets where we can apply our operating expertise and maintain consistent standards across the portfolio.

Do you manage storage facilities for outside owners?

No. We do not take on third-party management contracts. We are an in-house management company and only operate properties that are owned and developed within our platform.

Why don’t you offer third-party management?

Because our focus is long-term ownership, operational consistency, and customer experience. Managing only our own properties allows us to maintain the same standards, systems, and accountability across every location.

Are you interested in acquiring additional storage facilities?

Yes. We are always open to discussing acquisition opportunities with owners interested in selling an existing facility or portfolio.
